The neXus “SWEET OR TREAT” outreach service event scheduled in November for the local community has been cancelled.

A SUPER HUGE, GREAT BIG, AWESOME “THANK YOU” to all of you who came out and helped setup, tear down, and serve God by serving others food and drinks, at the Dallastown Halloween Parade last Thursday night. It was wonderful to see everyone, even if you only stopped by to buy a walking taco.

November 1st, there will be an informational meeting for SR high youth and parents about Winterfest in January 2010 from 7:00-7:30pm in the youth room. This is a weekend event that has music, fellowship and fun. Registration forms and deposit money needs to be turned in to the church office by November 22. This event has a maximum allowance for registration. We will not accept any registrations after the cutoff date. If you have already attended the previous informational meeting you do not need to attend this one unless you have questions.

November 1st is the last day to sign up to attend the JR High Dinner gathering on Thursday November 5th in the youth room upstairs. All youth in grades 7-8 are invited to eat, hang out, and have some faith building fun. It starts at 5:30pm till 7:00pm. Please use the signup sheet on the youth board outside the parlor. We are looking for family support by signing up to bring a main dish, a side dish, or a dessert. Ask your friends to see if they're going too! Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who continue to bring food every month for this youth fellowship event.

30 Hour Famine participants, if you haven’t turned in your registration paperwork or received a donation envelope with receipts in it, please see John Hykes or Jason as soon as possible.

There will be a signup sheet on the youth board for youth who would like to help at the “Christmastime in Dallastown” service event coming up on Saturday November 7th here at the church. We need help to setup the worship center Thursday night after the Jr High dinner gathering and choir, serve food and help wherever needed Saturday from 9am – 4pm. We need help in preparing taco meat, Hamburg BBQ, and Pork BBQ before hand for the day of the event. Service points will be given for this event. Thank you.

Parents, please be on the lookout for a 2009-2010 youth calendar for the neXus events, coming up for the next year. The dates are tentative, but we will be trying to keep the ones we have picked so you can help plan out with your youth all the opportunities they could be involved in here at CLC – Dallastown, we will have servant events that will outreach to not only our local congregation, but also the community, and the world, some faith forming trips, and throw in some fun for all. We will also be updating our website (www.clc-youth.org) and facebook (search Christ Lutheran Church Youth Group Dallastown) pages, so please check them often. We will also be looking into using email and text messaging to get the reminders out to you and your youth, we’ll be asking for cell phone and contact information for those who would like this sometime soon. As always please see any member of our youth team with questions or concerns.

Parents, we need your help!!  We have many youth ministry events here at  the church that requires parent support for the events to happen. Please prayerfully consider volunteering to support this ministry by being a “shepherd” that helps our youth become better disciples of Christ. There is no training necessary, God has already equipped you with the gifts you need. By volunteering to serve, you show our youth one of the four keys to faith development, “Family service”. I will be coming around and asking you individually, and in groups for your support. Thank you, Jason.
